Les Grandes Heures de Sceaux: a festive program to celebrate Christmas at the estate

A vast island of nature in the Hauts-de-Seine region, the Domaine départemental de Sceaux is listed as a Historic Monument and attracts many Parisians in search of calm and greenery. Over 180 hectares of parkland, ponds, waterfalls and canals, trees in bloom, a château transformed into a museum... The estate has many attractions.

The site also attracts visitors with its regular events and rendezvous. Exhibitions, parties, games, walks: visitors of all ages can enjoy a varied program all year round. Regular events include the Grandes Heures de Sceaux, a festive cultural event held three times a year.

Each year, the Domaine de Sceaux offers cultural activities based on a theme linked to the era of one of its owners. This event is organized in reference to the festivities organized by the Duchesse du Maine in the 17th century.

On the weekend of December 14 and 15, 2024, the Domaine de Sceaux goes into festive mode, with Les Grandes Heures de Sceaux: Noël au château. Several events and shows are planned for the whole family over the weekend. Don't forget to book your favorite activities in advance!

The program for this new edition of the Grandes Heures de Sceaux :

• Musical tour of the Château
  December 14
  Music lovers or the simply curious, listen out for music coming from the Château's windows... During your visit to the Château, treat yourself to a musical break with soprano Johanne Cassar, cellist Jérémie Maillard and harpist Florence Bourdon. The program features four musical interludes. Both moving and festive, it's for all music lovers. Can you recognize these tunes?
  2 p.m.: W.A. Mozart - Aria from the opera The Marriage of Figaro, 1786 Pietro Mascagni - Intermezzo

• Magic at the Château
  December 15
  The trainees from the Double Fond magic school take up residence at the Château! The magicians circulate between visitors to the Château, performing incredible magic tricks with everyday objects such as coins, cards, scarves, etc., just a few centimetres away from them. The atmosphere is festive and light-hearted: from the youngest to the oldest, everyone laughs, lets themselves be carried away into the miraculous world of the magicians, and leaves with stars in their eyes.

• Creative workshops: making table decorations
  December 15
  Decorate your tables with pretty animal decorations for the festive season! From 2pm to 5pm, a mediator invites you to create elegant place cards and gift tags, in 30-minute workshops.
