Synopsis: The friendly neighborhood spider decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang for a European vacation. Our verdict:
Spider-Man: Far From Home is very good entertainment, dynamic, full of twists and turns and with a discreet but effective sense of humor, arriving in small, welcome touches without overpowering the story. Tom Holland definitively embraces the role of Spider-Man with a mature film, and becomes THE new face of the MCU post-Endgame.
As for the acting, it's more profound, thanks to more dialogue and characters with more depth. Special mention should be made of Zendaya, whose character is more polished than in the first installment. The character of Mysterio, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, is also particularly well-exploited, especially in the second half of the film, which is in tune with the times and with another character from the first part, The Vulture, in terms of technology.
On the other hand, the first part of the film is a little uniform, but sets the scene and enhances the second part. As for the special effects, they're quite polished, offering some visually stunning scenes, whether in wide or tight shots.
Towards the end, the film moves closer to the comics, but still surprises us with its ability to break away from this literary heritage and offer something new and refreshing. The post-generic scenes are well worth the detour, so stick around until the end!
