Stardust: the David Bowie biopic in theaters in 2020

South African actor Johnny Flynn will play David Bowie on the big screen in the biopic 'Stardust', due in cinemas in 2020.

After Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, Taron Egerton as Elton John in Rocketman and Renée Zellweger as the mythical Judy Garland, now it's time for Johnny Flynn as David Bowie!

Entitled'Stardust', this biopic is due to hit our screens in 2020. In the meantime, director Gabriel Range has revealed that actor Johnny Flynn will play the role of Bowie. The South African actor has been seen in the film 'Genius' with Antonio Banderas, as well as 'Lovesick' and 'Jersey Affair'.

He will be joined by Jena Malone as Angie, David Bowie's first wife, and Marc Maron as Rob Oberman.

Billed as a"return to the origins", the film will focus on Bowie's early career, including his first trip across the Atlantic in 1971.

However, the British artist's son, Duncan Jones, has made it clear that the project did not have the family's agreement. Musical rights have also not been granted.
