Kazakhstan is the 9th largest country in the world. And yet, despite its size, it is undoubtedly the world's most little-known country. To the west of the country lies the vast Mangystau desert. But what is there to see in such a desolate territory? Driven by his own curiosity, Cédric Tassan, a bicycle explorer, sets off on his mountain bike to discover this very special place on his own.
In a journey of over 600 km, from the shores of the Caspian Sea to the border with Turkmenistan, he undertakes a unique exploration of the Mangystau desert. Revealing the beauty of the scenery he crosses and the deep, cutlurel roots of man, he also discovers the fragility of this desert exploited for its natural resources.
"Who hasn't dreamed of going around the world? Let Yannis Pelé's adventure take you through breathtaking landscapes that will transport you to the four corners of the globe... or so you'll think. Without saying a word, Yannis takes his mountain bike downhill through varied and spectacular terrain, from majestic mountains to deep forests, from arid deserts to wild beaches.
Freedom means different things to different people. Is it achievable, and at what price? In this adventure, Fred Horny leaves his home in Savoie to travel to Ecuador. With his friends, he discovers a splendid country. A small country, with its darker sides linked to the current turmoil. A great country, too, for the communities who live there and their values of simplicity and welcome.
If the Mamarumi trail turns out to be untamable because of a storm, isn't it the essence of adventure to change your plans and discover even better ones in the vicinity of the world's highest volcanoes and endless deserts? Will this mountain bike and freeride exploration answer that nagging question: are we really free?
At the age of 19, Angèle Paty embarked on her first cycling adventure, alone and determined to regain her freedom after months of confinement, heading for Scotland, a country so close to her heart. Three years later, in May 2024, she returns to the land of her first journey, not to relive her memories, but to rediscover her inner strength.
Between deep introspection and discovery, each pedal stroke allows her to assert her independence and her ability to travel alone. Saorsa is an invitation to embrace the adventure that lies dormant in all of us. Through her eyes, Angèle encourages us to rethink the way we travel.
"L'enfer Basque" tells the story of Maxime Prieur, an intrepid cyclist always on the lookout for new challenges. This time, he's tackling Artzamendi, the most feared mountain in the Basque Country, nicknamed "L'enfer Basque" for its vertiginous slopes and capricious weather. Maxime has set himself a crazy challenge: to climb Artzamendi as many times as possible in 24 hours.
Surrounded by local cyclists, this challenge became not only a physical test, but also a moment of sharing, camaraderie and proof that great adventures can be had right next door. The confrontation between this tempestuous mountain and Maxime's good humor transformed this challenge into an epic.
It's the story of a human and sporting epic. A peloton of 80 riders, including asylum seekers of different nationalities and French nationals, takes part in the Reborntrip every summer. Travelling together for 22 days over 1000 km by racing bike from Paris to the Tourmalet mountain in the Pyrenees, these Reborners discover an extraordinary fraternity that transcends their differences.
Le vélo n'est pas un sport de glisse, is a film proposed by Le Parisien's Biclou series. From a harmless skid to going off the road, every cyclist has at some time experienced that frightening loss of grip on a crosswalk, a white stripe or a colored bike path.
While all road surfaces in France comply with very strict standards, absolute anti-slip paint has yet to be patented! In the meantime, Clément Lagarde, French Contre la Montre champion, and Nicolas Fleury, former mountain bike trials world champion, give their tips on how to ride these roads without running into the scenery.
