After The Mummy, Universal Pictures is launching itself into an adaptation of The Invisible Man! The Invisible Man is a movie directed by Leigh Whannell and focusing on Universal Monsters character (which reboot, Dark Universe, has been ultimately left behind this year), will be out in France on February 26, 2020. A movie far from the classic monster movie codes since this one focuses more on the psychological thriller aspect.
And for good reason: instead of following the story of the Invisible Man, it’s on the vicissitudes and anxiety of the female lead, Cecilia Kass – played by Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale, The French Dispatch…) – and also persecuted by him that we focus. A movie also starring Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Emerald City, The Hauting of Hill House….), Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time, The Suicide Squad…) and even Aldis Hodge (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Hidden Figures…). While waiting for the release of the movie, let’s discover the trailer!
Plot:
If you feel his presence, it’s already too late. Cecilia Kass (Moss) is in a relationship with a brilliant and rich scientist. As she can’t stand his violent and tyrannical behavior any longer, she flees at night and find shelter at her sister’s (Harriet Dyer), their childhood friend (Hodge) and her teenage girl (Reid). But when the man (Jackson-Cohen) kills himself leaving a considerable part of his unmeasurable fortune to Cecilia, she starts wondering if he’s really dead. While a series of worrying coincidences threatens the life of her loved ones, Cecilia desperately tries to prove she’s tracked down by a man no one can see. Little by little, she feels like she’s getting out of her mind…
