As Éric Roux, the festival's president , points out , the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region has decided to drastically reduce the subsidy granted to the event, from 210,000 to 100,000 euros. This is why he appeals to the Ministry of Culture, to avoid what he considers too great a loss:"This decline, it impacts an entire territory that benefits each year from more than 11 million euros of direct economic benefits," he writes .
Still according to Eric Roux, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and its president Laurent Wauquiez have not given any justification for this decision, which is disputed by the opposition. Nevertheless, the organizers of the festival are thinking about a way to keep it going with this new budget. The tracks evoked are a lighter version of the event, with fewer programs, juries and competitions.
