Miskina, la pauvre - Melha Bedia returns with a touching comedy on Prime Video

After conquering the stage with her one-woman show and exploring the big screen with Forte, Melha Bedia is tackling a new challenge: creating the comedy series Miskina, la pauvre for Prime Video. This eight-episode comedy, available from September 30, 2022, features a promising cast including Hakim Jemili, Shirine Boutella and Victor Belmondo. Directed by Anthony Marciano, who previously helmed Les Gamins and Play, the series marks a new collaboration between Melha Bedia and Prime Video, following the success of Forte in 2020.

Miskina, la pauvre plunges us into the chaotic life of Fara, a woman in her thirties played by Melha Bedia. Homeless, jobless, without a partner, and afflicted with severe myopia, Fara is constantly under pressure from her family: an omnipresent grandmother, mother and sister. As she is forced to make crucial life choices, she must juggle her best friend, who could well be the man of her life, and an unexpected new love. With humor and tenderness, the series explores Fara's quest to find a balance between her personal aspirations and the expectations of those around her, while trying to stop being a "miskina" - a poor girl.

Miskina, la pauvre is aimed at a young adult audience with a taste for introspective stories and bittersweet comedies. Viewers who have enjoyed works such as Fleabag or La Flamme will find a unique voice in this series, carried by Melha Bedia's biting humor.
