Released in June 2021,Wrath of Man is an action thriller directed by Guy Ritchie, marking another explosive collaboration with Jason Statham. Adapted from the French film Le Convoyeur (2004), the film plunges us into the world of cash-in-transit workers and explores a brutal and ruthless quest for revenge. Un homme en colère will be available on Prime Video from October 16, 2024, a perfect opportunity to discover this intense film where mystery and action meet.
H(Jason Statham), a taciturn and mysterious man, has just been hired as a security guard in a Los Angeles cash-in-transit company. On his first assignment, he demonstrates formidable skill and precision in neutralizing a group of robbers attempting to steal a van. His colleagues, impressed and intrigued by his extraordinary skills, begin to wonder: who is H really, and why has he joined their team?
As the plot progresses, An Angry Man reveals H's true motives. He's not here by chance: he has a very specific plan and is out to settle a personal score. What his colleagues don't know is that H is on a quest for revenge, hunting down those who have committed an unforgivable injustice. The bank robbers he confronts are just one piece in a larger puzzle, and H will stop at nothing to achieve his ultimate goal, even if it means plunging into a world of violence and betrayal.
Angry Man will appeal to fans of intense action thrillers, marked by palpable tension and impressive fight sequences. Fans of Jason Statham, who appreciate his roles as a relentless man of action, will find here one of his most cold and methodical performances.
The film's originality lies in Guy Ritchie's signature non-linear narrative, which gradually reveals H's secret motivations through flashbacks and shifts in perspective. The viewer is caught up in a complex plot, where the pieces of the puzzle only fall into place as H's past is revealed. This darkly stylized thriller stands out for its rawer, less humorous approach than other Guy Ritchie films, offering constant tension right up to the final scene.
Available on Prime Video from October 16, 2024, An Angry Man is an intense thriller, starring Jason Statham at the top of his game as a ruthless vigilante. Directed by Guy Ritchie, this film skilfully blends action, revenge and mystery, plunging viewers into a world where violence and the quest for personal justice intersect. A must-see for fans of action and revenge stories.
Our opinion on Un Homme en Colère (2021)
Guy Ritchie is back at the top of his game with UnHomme enColère( AnAngryMan ), an edgy, dynamic film with rhythm in its shots and storytelling. It's a film without length, with an interesting construction that's neither linear nor convoluted, making it captivating from start to finish. We also appreciate the performance of Jason Statham who, although his character is rather smooth, shines with his presence in front of the camera.
On the other hand, we regret that the script is too tightly woven, predictable down to the last detail, and even too close to the book, but this doesn't prevent us from enjoying this action-packed, well-choreographed and bloody film. A good action film that does the job, as they say, but which could have been a little more consistent, both in its script and in the depth of its characters. A must-see for all fans of the genre!
