The Branche & Ciné festival returns this summer from June 29 to July 8, 2023. Enjoy a free open-air cinema in one of the forests of Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France and Normandy.

Are you a fan of the cinema, but don't feel like shutting yourself away in a dark theatre on a sunny day? Here's the solution: the Branche & Ciné festival offers open-air cinema in the heart of nature! Head for the forests of Hauts-de-France, Île-de-France and Normandy to enjoy free film screenings and entertainment.

Celebrating its 5th year,Branche & Ciné has concocted a fantastic theme - "Perched in the Trees", which takes us back to childhood and woodland cabins. Organized by theOffice National des Forêts, the festival features some 20 outdoor screenings in some of the region's most beautiful forests. The opening ceremony will take place in the Retz forest, known as Alexandre Dumas' childhood forest, and will include an open-air screening of "Les Trois Mousquetaires - D'Artagnan". It's a unique opportunity to see the forest from a new angle, and enjoy the magic of cinema in the heart of nature.

The not-to-be-missed program:

  • Opening ceremony: June 30, Forêt de Retz, screening of"Les Trois Mousquetaires".
  • Preview of "Tobie Lolness": In the forests of Sénart and Bord, screening of the first two episodes.
  • "La Guerre du Feu": Screening in the park of the Musée de la Préhistoire d'Île-de-France in Nemours.
  • "La Guerre des Boutons": Screening in the Rougeau regional forest, in partnership with Île-de-France Nature.
  • Closing of the festival with "L'Arbre " by Julie Bertuccelli: Screening in the forest park of Château Rosa Bonheur in Thomery.
  • All the program in Ile-de-France

The festival is also honored by the presence of its godmother, actress Juliette Binoche, who conducts interviews with the guests of honor, including such illustrious names as Hayao Miyazaki and Jacques Perrin. Véronique Le Bris, President of the 2023 Selection Committee, also played a key role in the film selection process.

When you immerse yourself in this festival, you can't help but feel a deep connection with nature. Before each screening, there's a program of free events, including musical performances, storytelling, exhibitions, games and guided walks with a forester.
