A new twist, the episodes follow one another and it becomes more and more difficult to establish the direction of The Mandalorian season 3. The storyline moves aimlessly, chaining side stories together. After even leaving the main character duo in episode 3, it offers us a small adventure without flavor.
Din Djarin and Bo-Katan enjoy their time in the Mandalorian exile camp, they even start to adopt their habits and customs. But when one of the camp's children is kidnapped by a dragon, our hero and a few others take to the jet-pack to rescue him. Meanwhile, Grogu stays in the camp and remembers his past, his own abduction.
If we remove the end and beginning credits, as well as the "previously", this fourth episode lasts barely 25 minutes, watch in hand. Weakness of the scenario, secondary story worthy of a filler episode, we are far from the tension brought by the hour spent with the ex-soldiers of the Empire in episode 3.
The writers have so little to say in this chapter, that a good part of this tiny episode is dedicated to a flashback of Grogu. As if to keep the viewer awake, we see Jedi and lightsaber fights, reminiscent of the prequel. It's almost as if they don't know what to invent to rekindle our interest, which makes this first half of the season largely disjointed and jagged.
Moreover, the series still doesn't know how to make Grogu move, without his often badly done moves being ridiculous. A training scene in the Mandalorian camp made us laugh, as it was visually absurd.
In short, we don't hope for much more, but we'll see you next Wednesday for episode 5!
