Both have immense careers, but in radically different fields. Actress Agnès Jaoui and filmmaker Christopher Nolan will both be at theOlympia to receive an honorary César at the 49th César ceremony on February 23.
It is now a tradition at the Académie des Césars for a French personality to be honored alongside an American one. Agnès Jaoui, an emblematic figure of French cinema, is celebrated for her career as an actress and director(Place Publique, Au bout du Conte, etc). On the other side of the Channel, Christopher Nolan, a renowned British director, is recognized for his influence on world cinema(Inception, Interstellar, Oppenheimer, etc.). Known for his spectacular and innovative films, Nolan has redefined the action and science-fiction film genre, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Both have a busy schedule ahead of them, as Nolan is in the running for awards for Oppenheimer, and is one of the favorites for theBest Picture Oscar. Meanwhile, Agnès Jaoui has new roles to bring to the screen very soon, in Le Dernier des Juifs and La Vie de ma Mère.
