The rumor that had been circulating for a few weeks has been confirmed: Le Deuxième Acte has been chosen to kick off the Cannes Film Festival 2024 on May 14. The film will open the festival on the Croisette, and will be screened out of competition, in a world premiere. If you're not in Cannes on that day, don't worry: Le Deuxième Acte will be released in all French cinemas the following day!
Quentin Dupieux once again takes us into the twists and turns of the film world: following on from Yannick et Daaaaaali, the director explores the nuances of acting and comedy. To bring this absurd and extravagant adventure to life, Quentin Dupieux has surrounded himself with some of the finest names in French cinema: Léa Seydoux, Raphaël Quenard, Vincent Lindon and Louis Garrel.
Florence wants to introduce David, the man she's madly in love with, to her father Guillaume. But David isn't attracted to Florence and wants to get rid of her by throwing her into the arms of his friend Willy. The four characters end up in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
The director is now a regular at the Croisette, where he presents almost all his latest films, fuelling passionate debate after each screening.
