Rupert Sanders' redefinition of the classic The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, reinvents James O'Barr's graphic novel. Available in cinemas from August 21.

In 2024, director Rupert Sanders takes on an icon of Gothic culture with his new version of The Crow. Known for his visually captivating approach in Ghost in the Shell, Sanders promises to make his mark once again. The lead role, formerly played by Brandon Lee, is now taken by Bill Skarsgård, famous for his terrifying portrayal of Pennywise in Ça. Alongside him, FKA Twigs, a polymorphous and mysterious artist, takes her first big screen steps, supported by veteran Danny Huston. This new adaptation of James O'Barr 's graphic novel revisits the tragic and dark story of the hero, Eric Draven, offering a new perspective on the myth.

In this contemporary edition of The Crow, Bill Skarsgård takes on the mantle of Eric Draven, a musician resurrected by a mystical raven on Devil's Night to avenge the death of himself and his fiancée. The dark, electric atmosphere of the city, practically a character in its own right, creates the perfect backdrop for this quest for justice. FKA Twigs plays Draven's tragic muse, bringing a new, deeply emotional dimension to this tale of redemption and pain. Under the artistic direction of Rupert Sanders, the film promises visually stunning scenes.

Aimed at fans of dark thrillers and tales of revenge, The Crow also appeals to a new generation of viewers who didn't experience the original. This reinterpretation aims to capture the essence of the graphic novel while introducing innovative elements that could redefine the genre. The addition of FKA Twigs, in particular, promises an immersive, haunting soundtrack that should perfectly complement Sanders' visual aesthetic.

Rupert Sanders'The Crow, starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, promises to be an intense visual and emotional exploration of grief and revenge. Scheduled for release on August 21, 2024, this work could well renew the gothic genre with a modern twist and a promising cast.
