Azur et Asmar in concert at La Seine Musicale in December 2024

On December 27, 28 and 29, 2024, La Seine Musicale in Paris will host an exceptional event: a ciné-concert dedicated to Azur et Asmar, the animated film by Michel Ocelot. This unique event immerses the audience in the visual and musical universe of the film, offering a richly emotional experience for spectators of all ages.

Michel Ocelot, famous for his Kirikou trilogy, made his mark with Azur et Asmar in 2006. The film, inspired by the tales of the Thousand and One Nights, explores profound themes such as social inequality and the discovery of different cultures through the story of two milk brothers, Azur and Asmar, separated in their youth and reunited by a common quest.

The film's original soundtrack, composed by Gabriel Yared and rearranged for the occasion by Robin Melchior, will be performed live by the Yellow Socks Orchestra. Musicians Mohamed Najem and Yousef Zayed will enrich the performance with traditional instruments such as the Ney flute and the Oud, accompanying the film's projection on a large screen.
