We'd managed to get out of the"Murder in Harlem" room at Captive Live Escape Game in Clichy-la-Garenne in extremis, so we did it again with"La Lumière d'Atlantis", another game room at the Clichy escape game.
The story behind"La Lumière d'Atlantis"? The famous city has been found (in Clichy!) and is (once again) threatened with being submerged and swallowed up by a wave. Our mission as Atlanteans? To make the crystal that protects Atlantis and its inhabitants shine again.
Nothing impossible on paper. In reality, we're plunged into an underwater atmosphere, with little light, surrounded by shells and coral. In the background, the sound of the sea and the song of whales in the distance. A very pleasant playing environment (apart from the dim lighting).
This room is based on meticulous, almost archaeological excavations(the Atlantis era dictates this). As with "Murder in Harlem", this room doesn't rely on technology (there was none in -9600), but on logic, reflection and symbols, to find the incantations to recite.
"La Lumière d'Atlantis" is accessible to children: if they are accompanied by adults, the riddles remain as they are; if the children are on their own, as part of a birthday party for example, the difficulty diminishes, with fewer riddles to solve and the presence of an animator in the room to guide them.
"La Lumière d'Atlantis" is Captive Live Escape Game's simplest room, according to our game master. It's doable, but the logic of the symbols isn't all that obvious. We managed to light up the crystal in just under 55 minutes, thanks to a few hints from the game master.
Can you save Atlantis from sinking?
