Fortnite Recharge: Fortnite OG returns in the form of a new Battle Royal mode

Fortnite OG, the nostalgic Battle Royal that lets you fight as a team on old maps in 2023, is back! And it's in the form of a new (permanent?) game mode, entitled Fortnite Recharge, that it lands, starting this June 22, 2024. Starting at 8pm, get ready for an explosive experience promising a dose of adrenaline with intense battles, varied weapons and iconic locations. Fortnite Recharge immerses you in a historical atmosphere, renewing the way you play and enjoy this cult game. Gather your platoon and get ready to fight to the last breath!

Fortnite Recharge innovates with a unique recovery mechanic. As long as a member of your squad is still alive, your teammates can re-enter the game. This mode welcomes up to 40 players on a more compact map, where legendary locations such as Tilted Towers and Retail Row make their return. Whether you're a fan of the traditional Battle Royale mode or the Zero Construction version, the objective remains the same: to be the last section alive. If your entire team is eliminated, it's the end of the adventure for you!

One of the great new features of Fortnite Recharge is the recovery countdown (and automatic respawn, after all...). At the start of the game, this countdown is 30 seconds, and can extend to 40 seconds later in the game. Team members can reduce this time by knocking out opponents or eliminating opposing sections. However, at the end of the game, recoveries are deactivated, making survival even more crucial. This mechanism pushes players to adopt more aggressive strategies or to keep a low profile to ensure their team's survival.

A host of weapons also return in Fortnite Recharge!

In addition to this gameplay dynamic, Fortnite Recharge features a selection of well-known weapons, such as the rocket launcher, the single-shot sniper rifle and the tactical shotgun. The smaller map encourages movement on foot, eliminating the need for vehicles. Players will also be able to collect reintroduced items and weapons, such as the revolver and tactical machine pistol.

To top it all off, completing Fortnite Recharge quests earns exclusive rewards, such as the Digital Dive drag, the Cube Pool liner and the Banana Bath back accessory. Win a Royal Victory to unlock the Paretour glider and make your mark in this new chapter of Fortnite. Come back, recharge, and above all, survive!
