While Metallica is in the midst of its European tour for the second leg of its"M72 World Tour", and soon in France for the new edition of Hellfest, the Californian Thrash metal band is once again making news through a famous video game. Metallica confirms its collaboration with Fortnite!
The American band, made up of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo, takes center stage in the 4th season of Fortnite Festival, succeeding The Weeknd, Lady Gaga and Billie Eilish. And you won't have to wait long to discover this new Fortnite Festival season, as it kicks off on June 13 with update 30.10 and is due to end on August 16, 2024 at 6am.
For over 8 weeks, fans of the American band and gamers alike can let off steam with Metallica songs ( " Enter Sandman ", " Fuel ", " Master of Puppets ", " Ride the Lightning ", " The Unforgiven "...), but that's not all. The members of Metallica are also here to fight! Season 4 of Fortnite Festival brings a new permanent game mode: the Royal Stage. In concrete terms, this is a PvP mode in which 16 musicians battle it out to be the overall winner. So battle it out on the Royal Stage, the Improv Stage or the Main Stage, and make your way through Season 4's Festival Pass!
This Fortnite Festival season 4 is also an opportunity to blast the speakers with the bonus track, get comfy playing Lars' TAMA drums, blast your enemies with Ride the Lightning guitars, or take to the stage as James, Lars, Kirk and Robert.
Once again, the rhythm music video game developed by Harmonix and published by Epic Games leaves nothing to chance. The images unveiled in the teaser show a number of the members' individual characteristics, such as James' tattoos, Lars' black cap worn backwards and his famous silver necklace, Kirk's black nail varnish and Rob's tank top. The round central stage, designed for Metallica's last tour, is also visible in the game.
And the Metallica/Fortnite collaboration experience doesn't stop there, as you can continue the party outside Fortnite Festival with LEGO versions of the James, Lars, Kirk and Rob outfits! You can also check out Rocket Racing's new"Metallica Mountain" track.
But this collaboration between Fortnite and Metallica also has a nice surprise in store, with a new musical experience entitled " Metallica: Fuel. Fire. Fury. " . Specifically, this experience features gameplay based around 6 Metallica fan-favorite songs. This series of in-game concerts will be broadcast at six different times over two days only, on June 22 and 23, 2024.
