On Thursday April 3, 2025, the Snack Show in Paris hosted the very first edition of the"Best Brioche in France" competition. An opportunity to honor this emblematic French bakery product, so popular with gourmets.
Brioche can be enjoyed in many different forms: from the braided brioche from Metz to the Parisian brioche, the sugar brioche or the Vendée brioche... there are many ways to enjoy this pastry.
A competition to determine the best brioche in France was therefore an obvious choice. On April 3, at the Snack Show, contestants had to outdo each other in three separate events. Candidates were first judged on their technique, in a test where they had to make a classic puff pastry brioche. This was followed by an imposed test. Participants had to come up with a plant-based version of the brioche, using seaweed powder. Finally, the finalists redoubled their imagination in the creative round, with the sweet brioche.
After smelling, touching and tasting the various brioches produced, the jury of experts, chaired by Jean-François Feuillette, finally named Christophe Delporte the overall winner of this 2025 competition.
Christophe Delporte, who works at the Rouget bakery in L'Isle-Adam, Val-d'Oise, won the very first"Best Brioche in France" competition.
The Val-d'Oise artisan was up against three other bakers: Louis Hamel from the 'Du Pain et des Idées' bakery (75010 Paris), Adrien Dureau from the 'La Cocagne' bakery (75010 Paris) and Guillaume Felez from the 'Facon des boulangers' bakery (75011 Paris).
Congratulations to Christophe Delporte and the other candidates!
