As you know, this year we're celebrating the 160th anniversary of Franco-Japanese relations. As a result, Japonismes 2018 has invaded France with numerous shows and exhibitions. The Eiffel Tower will also be decked out in Japanese colors on September 13 and 14 for a unique visual show.
For gourmets, a new boutique featuring Japanese gastronomy will open in Paris. The initiative of a collaborative project between Japan Airlines, Yamato Group and Issé, Le Goût du Japon will officially open its doors in the 2nd arrondissement from September 25, 2018.
Inside this 40m² boutique? Japanese regional products in a wide variety of categories: vegetables, fruit, fish, meat and beverages... Customers will also be able to discover culinary specialties from Japan's various prefectures, which will change regularly.
What's more? The possibility of tasting the various products sold around the counter, as well as consuming prepared dishes (on the spot or to take away). Taste of Japan will also feature a mini-market and an aquarium filled with fish to discover ikejime.
The other facet of Goût du Japon? Its distribution platform, so that professionals and individuals from all over France can stock up on fresh or ambient regional Japanese products.
For the impatient, an Open House will be held on Saturday, September 8, from 11am to 5pm.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
