Paris à Poil(s) : carte blanche to the artist Charlie Le Mindu who re-covers the Samaritaine

You deserve a little haircut! For its new campaign"Paris à Poil(s)", the Samaritaine has given Charlie Le Mindu carte blanche to redesign the spaces of the department store. A true ode to life, hair and texture, his dense work metamorphoses the emblematic staircase of the Samaritaine and even abounds in the windows.

Charlie Le Mindu is a designer and tricophile artist with a reputation that knows no boundaries. From New York to Paris, he collaborates with the greatest like Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Lady Gaga or Lana Del Rey. His specialty: hair! Considered as an outstanding hair sculptor, the creator goes so far as to raise hairstyling to the rank of Art.

The artist takes up the challenge of the first "facade renovation" of the main staircase of the store! He affixed extensions made of artificial and natural fibers, creating a monumental work of art, called Tricophilia. The hair expert thus reveals all his creativity and technicality by assembling strand by strand, spike by spike, this abundant made-to-measure haute-coiffure.

Another special feature: the hair installation is scalable! Until May 2023, it will follow the natural course of time and seasons: from its raw state, it will be enriched with colors and plants at the time of flowering, to finish with the harvest where each visitor will be able to leave with a piece of the work.

The stages of the evolution of the TRICOPHILIA work:

• Natural mode: Discover the richness of the colors and textures of this artificial hair, from polar blond to deep black _ until mid-March 2023
• Blossom: Witness the arrival of spring with an explosion of flowers and colors in pastel hues _ mid-March to mid-April 2023
• Taming the Ear: Charlie Le Mindu will be styling, braiding and sculpting his creation _ mid-April to early May 2023
