For its fifth edition, the Effractions festival, organized by the Bibliothèque publique d'information at the Centre Pompidou, honors contemporaryliterature and its relationship with reality, focusing on commitment and social issues such as war, the environment and social struggles. For five days, from March 6 to 10, 2024, readers will be able to attend meetings, workshops and performances, and admire writers' appropriation of reality in their works.
This year's festival welcomes some fortyauthors, including Valérie Zenatti, Nina Bouraoui, Sylvain Prudhomme, Ariane Chemin, Éric Reinhardt and Luc Lang. It's an opportunity to debate with these writers of engaged literature, drama, literary journalism, poetry or slam, but also the way in which they seize on a real element to create powerful works of fiction that challenge.
The program offers the curious the chance to discover these writers through special events, which everyone can attend free of charge. In"Collusion", an author dialogues with a specialist about the central theme of his or her work; in"Regards Croisés", several authors discuss a topical theme that has inspired their text; "La revue de presse de l'écrivain" looks at the author's relationship with current events and the press;"À voix haute" brings texts to life through readings in one or two voices; and"Chantier de fouille" analyzes the role of documentation in writing.
