For the 11th time, the Festival America takes place throughout the city of Vincennes, from September 26 to 29, 2024, to highlight different voices fromNorth America, around feminism, the history of the United States or even the environment, through literature and culture. The four-day program includes over a hundred exciting events, including debates, meetings, a book fair, film screenings, concerts, exhibitions and a children's festival...
Nearly sixty authors, journalists, historians, filmmakers and activists will be on hand to discuss the changes in American and European society, as this year authors from 9 European countries will also be present for a dialogue between the two continents. Among the issues at the heart of this year's festival are roundtables on the climate crisis, artificial intelligence, class struggle and many other topical subjects.
Share a special moment with your favorite authors at a literary breakfast or aperitif - but be warned, places are limited! On the program: translation jousts, foreign-language writing workshops, a reading of tales and legends from Ireland, performances by street artists - all activities to enjoy with friends or family!
It's advisable to reserve a ticket for the evenings and special events, but access to the festival meetings on Thursday and Friday afternoons, the weekend for under-18s and the book fair is free!
