What a victory! Iga Świątek won the fourth Grand Slam of her career this Saturday, June 10, in Paris. The French Open ladies' tournament came to a close with the world number 1 triumphing in a hard-fought match against Czech Karolína Muchová (6-2, 5-7, 6-4), ranked 43rd in the world and playing in the first final of her career. The 22-year-old Pole won the French Open for the third time, following a trophy in 2020 and one last year.
Throughout the tournament, Iga Świątek showed incredible fighting spirit. She won all her matches hands down and didn't drop a set throughout the fortnight, except in this final. She even won a match without dropping a set, against China's Wang Xinyu. Against Karolína Muchová, the Polish player was worried, as the match was so suspenseful. Once again, this young player proves that she deserves her place as world number 1, as she has dominated this Grand Slam.
Tomorrow, you can follow the men's final between Casper Ruud and Novak Djokovic at 3pm.
