January seems to be basketball month in Paris, between the NBA Paris Game and the La Mie Câline Basket Go qualifying tournaments. This tournament, recognized in France for 26 years as the benchmark for players aged 13 to 15, returns to the capital for a regular-season stage, which will define the teams who will continue the competition through to the grand final, scheduled to take place in Vendée this summer. Head to the Charles Rigoulot sports center from 10 a.m. this Sunday, January 7, 2024, to support your favorite teams for free!
The tournament aims to promote amateur basketball, but also serves as a springboard for young players, some of whom have gone on to become professionals, such as Nicolas Batum or more recently Victor Wembanyama. During the pre-qualification phase, from September to April, teams compete locally according to their level, before a second phase in April-May.
