As the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games approach, cultural and festive events are multiplying all over the capital. Cultural centers are also taking part in the festivities. This is particularly true of theInstitut Finlandais.
Nestled in Paris's much-loved Latin Quarter, theInstitut Finlandais has launched its"Ensemble! Initiated by Tuula Yrjö-Koskinen, the current director of the cultural venue located in the 5th arrondissement, the"Ensemble!" program is on view until September 14. " Ensemble means transcending borders, cooperating and learning from each other. Like sport, art has the power to bring us together," explains the Finnish Institute in a press release. Among the highlights not to be missed this spring? A"Block Party" scheduled for Thursday, May 30, 2024 in the Rue du Sommerard, just outside Café Maa.
Heralded as a " real moment of sharing and self-expression ", this"Block Party" is an opportunity to discover street dance and, in particular, breaking, a discipline in which the Finns excel.
On May 30, 2024, rue du Sommerard will host street dance battles and demonstrations, as well as open-air DJ sets. To honor hip-hop culture, Finnish and French artists will be on hand.
More good news: thisBlock Party is free and open to all. Space is limited, so don't be late if you want to know all about breaking!
