Ready to storm the libraries and fill up on culture? Libraries in Paris and theÎle-de-France region are taking part in the Saison France-Brésil 2025, a year-long program of cultural exchanges. This event, which celebrates the historical and contemporary ties between the two countries, offers a cultural program in line with the main themes of the season. The event is structured around the themes of climate, social diversity and democracy in a globalized world. The establishments in the Ile-de-France network are mobilizing to host meetings, exhibitions and conferences related to these issues.
Launched for the first time in 1985, the Cultural Seasons initiative has enabled France to engage in dialogue with a hundred or so countries through more than sixty editions. In 2025, this initiative returns to mark a symbolic date: twenty years after the " Brazil, Brazil " Season organized in 2005. This new edition aims to strengthen partnerships between cultural, academic and scientific institutions in both countries, and to promote a better mutual understanding of contemporary issues.
The participation of libraries in the Paris region is part of this framework of exchange and awareness-raising. They will be offering programming aligned with the Season's three main themes: " climate and ecological transition ", "the diversity of societies and dialogue with Africa ", and " democracy and equitable globalization ". An opportunity to celebrate our cultural ties with Brazil... and to do a few Samba steps at the same time!
