Une Situation Délicate, the play starring Gérard Darmon and Max Boublil, returns to Paris in September

A return to its roots for the comedy Une Situation Délicate, which first performed at the Théâtre des Nouveautés in 2022. After more than a year and a half of success, the play returns for a new season from September 26, 2024 to December 31, 2024 at the same theater.

A French adaptation by Gérald Sibleyras, the play tells the story of Nicolas (played by Max Boublil), who is madly in love with Julie (played by Elsa Rozenknop) and dreams of marrying her. Moved by this intense love, Julie decides to end her affair with Philippe (played by Gérard Darmon), a man married to Marianne (played by Clotilde Courau) and twenty years her senior. To do this, she plans a final meeting with Philippe at his home, while making Nicolas believe she's going to her parents'. Suspicious, Nicolas discreetly follows her. What follows is a series of misunderstandings and misunderstandings, plunging everyone into a cascade of comic and delicate situations, within the walls of the Théâtre des Nouveautés.

Max Boublil recently performed at La Cigale in his one-man show Maximilien, but this play marks the comedian's theatrical debut! And the audience didn't seem to mind. His duo with the iconic Gérard Darmon(La Cité de la Peur , and many others) is set to bring you an evening of humor with Clotilde Courau (Nouveau départ) and Élodie Navarre(Notre-Dame brûle).

A Delicate Situation is a comedy written by British playwright Alan Ayckbourn. Considered the most widely performed playwright in the world after Shakespeare, his plays have been translated into 35 languages. In France, several of his works have been adapted, including Les uns chez les autres, Mariages et Conséquences, and L'Amour est enfant de salaud, and now Une situation Délicate at the Théâtre des Nouveautés in Paris's 9th arrondissement this fall!
