All are dead, but some don't know it: Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, the specter of Banco, the child... The dead child is the cornerstone of the guilt that haunts the Macbeths, condemned to relive their past. From November 6 to 12 (re)discover this Shakespeare classic at the Opéra-Comique, directed by Thomas Jolly and orchestrated by the Opéra National de Lyon.

Emblematic of evil, the Shakespearean couple takes us into the darkest regions of the human soul. Pascal Dusapin, one of today's great opera creators, composed his score to a text by Frédéric Boyer, based on the original play.

Co-commissioned with Théâtre royal de la Monnaie, Macbeth Underworld was due to appear atOpéra-Comique in spring 2020. The health crisis has postponed this long-awaited French premiere to 2023. Thomas Jolly invents an otherworldly scenic space, and Franck Ollu deploys his sound universe as a connoisseur of Pascal Dusapin's work.
