Benoit Solès 's play tells the true story of Alan Turing, creator of what is considered the first computer: the Turing machine. A mathematician and cryptologist, he was instrumental in solving the Enigma code used by the Germans during the Second World War. But the play doesn't just tell the story of Turing's computer prowess, it also tells the moving and touching story ofAlan Turing. Within the walls of the splendid Théâtre Michel,we witness the evolution of his life, but also the consequences he had to face because of his homosexuality.

Benoit Solès, author of the play, plays the role ofAlan Turing. Inspired by Hugh Whitemore's play Breaking the Code, and based onAndrew Hodges' Alan Turing: The Enigma, La machine de Turing won four Molières in 2019: Best Private Show, Best Living Francophone Author, Best Private Theater Director ( Tristan Petitgirard) and Best Actor.
