The Théâtre de la Concorde, a new venue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, has set itself the goal of combining art and democracy. Following the closure of the Espace Cardin, the sublime building now houses the Théâtre de la Concorde. Described by its director Elsa Boublil as " a great place to live, open during the day for free activities, and in the evening for shows ", the Théâtre de la Concorde intends to make a name for itself by becoming a hybrid establishment mixing debate, reflection, contradictions and creation, all in a vast space including a 40-seat cine-club, a 150-seat studio and a 650-seat large auditorium.
To mark the occasion, the Théâtre de la Concorde has announced a grand opening weekend, with concerts, shows, meetings, an open pic, the creation of a participatory fresco and an introduction to krump, the famous dance form that emerged in the underprivileged areas of Los Angeles in the 2000s.
