For Centre Pompidou staff, 40 years is something that needs celebration and with music! Very disliked for years because of its architecture, the Centre Pompidou is now a full part of Paris and to thank all its sponsors and patrons taking part in the adventure, the Amis du Centre Pompidou [Friends of Centre Pompidou] came up with a big festive evening held on Thursday October 19, 2017 when the museum closes.
Cocktails, musical performances and after party on the rooftop, this celebration sounds incredible. On the menu of the 40th anniversary of the Centre Pompidou? A cocktail to enjoy on the 4th floor to get in the mood before climbing to the 5th floor where singers and musicians in residency at the Paris Opera Academy await us dressed in Prada stage costume.
For one hour, from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., they give life to the museum works for a unique visit of the contemporary collections of the museum of modern art, instead of sleeping paintings wake up, express something, paintings that are usually so quiet… Then, at 11 p.m., go to the sixth floor of the Centre Pompidou to discover a night club for an after with DJ sets until 3 a.m., upon advice provided by Marc Zaffuto & Emmanuel d’Orazio!
Sounds good to you? The evening is not only reserved to sponsors and tickets are already on sale. If the visit + after package costs €110, you can make it for €70 if you only want to attend the musical show performed by Paris Opera academicians and €40 if you’re more interested in clubbing for the anniversary.
So, let’s book Beaubourg anniversary already?
