In 1982, they took over the British musical scene. Since then and despite splitting up five years later only, they’re still here, present in the minds and the ears of every music lover. Who are they? The Smiths. A band born in full Thatcher era who managed to show the world what they were capable of in four albums and inspired since many bands such as Oasis and The Libertines. In other words, a myth. This is to this cult formation that Point Ephémère devotes an exhibition from February 2 to 20, 2018.
On the menu, The Smiths’ album covers echoing the British pop culture from the 60’s to better understand Morissey’s band aesthetics. And to improve your knowledge on the matter, the bar Quai de Valmy offers a conference about the making of these covers on Friday February 16, at 7 p.m. The whole is free of charge, it would be too bad to miss it, don’t you think?
