After Discorde, Fille de la Nuit, the Palais de Tokyo is offering to plunge back into our memories of youth through its new Season, Childhood, from June 22 to September 9, 2018. A series of exhibitions that invites visitors to delve back into memories of this more or less distant era and reflect on their influence on " the construction of our identities and their representations ". These artists are brought together in a major exhibition entitled Encore un Jour Banane pour le Poisson-Rêve.
A season that brings together a plethora of artists and craftsmen inspired by the title of J.D. Salinger's novel: Caroline Achaintre, Sharon Lockhart, Aurélie Lanoiselée, Anita Molinero, Ugo Rondinone, Yuichi Yokoyama, Andy Warhol, Chihiro Mori, Germain Benoît, and many others... So many artists participating in this vision of childhood, under the aegis of Clément Cogitore, dramaturge of this exhibition presented as part of Japonisme 2018.
The idea? To allow visitors to travel through a scenography reminiscent of a children's tale, and build their own identity (or at least understand its structure) through several " initiatory trials by confronting the strange and the foreign ". A journey accessible to all, from 7 to 77 years old, thanks to different reading levels and divided into eight distinct spaces: the Enigma, Leviathan, the Chamber of Premonition, the Door of Desolation, the Red Door, the Chamber of Melancholy, Recreation and the Horizon of Chimeras. A season accompanied by five other exhibitions: Ring, Sing and Drink for Trespassing by Laure Prouvost,A Silent Line, Lives Here by Bronwyn Katz, l'Union des Poètes et des Boulangers by Julieta Garcia Vazquez, I Have on the Top of My Tongue Your Name Almost Forgot by Romain Vicari and Chroniques Parallèles, an exhibition around the Audi Talents 2017 winners.
Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
