In autumn 2018, the Fondation Cartier will be turning a thousand colors with its exhibition Géométries Sud, from Mexico to Tierra del Fuego, on view from October 14, 2018 to February 24, 2019.
From folk art to abstract art, Géométries Sud brings together nearly 250 works ranging from the pre-Columbian period to the present day, all with a strong visual identity thanks to powerful geometric lines underscored by bright colors!
A major work in the exhibition. Carte blanche to Paraguayan architects Solano Benítez and Gloria Cabral, winners of the Golden Lion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale. They will design a monumental work based on the principle of repetition, with broken bricks and concrete, assembled like a house of cards in the main hall of the Fondation Cartier... Can't wait to see it!
Creating unexpected dialogues, Géométries Sud weaves visual links between eras, territories and cultures, and invites us to dream in the heart of these universes.
