“Marie-Antoinette, La Comtesse du Barry: Les diamants de la Révolution” at Paris Chapelle Expiatoire

If you’re a history enthusiast and more into Paris history, then book you Saturday December 8. As part of the “Des Structures” exhibition and for the 225^th anniversary of the death of the Comtesse du Barry, curious people are invited to visit the Chapelle Expiatoire. A rather special visit about “Marie-Antoinette, La Comtesse du Barry: Les diamants de la Révolution”.

For one hour, historian and searcher at the CNRS (France's national scientific research center) Evelyne Lever and Le Diamantaire artist will guide you through the chapel for a two-voice visit around the installation Le Diamantaire has designed for the exhibition running to January 5, 2019.

This work is the Diamantoscope, a piece halfway between a kaleidoscope and a telescope. Your two guides for the day will try to make the kink between this contemporary installation and this commemorative area filled with Paris history by telling you about the Ancien Régime and the Revolution era, anecdotes and lead figures.
