The Palais de la Découverte, so beloved by families and the curious, couldn't see itself closing completely in August 2020 for four years, while the Grand Palais undergoes renovation work. So the museum moved into the Parc André-Citroën with an ephemeral structure of almost 800 m², aptly named Les Étincelles du Palais de la Découverte.
Inside this ephemeral wooden structure, the Palais de la Déc ouverte will be offering its familiar permanent exhibitions in scaled-down versions, workshops and conferences, as well as a 49-seat planetarium!
The program for the Palais de la Découverte ephemeral spaces:
Of course, the Palais de la Découverte in the Parc André-Citroën cannot accommodate all its regular visitors. It is already planned that the ephemeral museum will be reserved for schools and groups during the week, and open to the general public by reservation at weekends and during school vacations. The museum will be open from Tuesday to Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during school vacations only) or, during the school year, on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12.45 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Admission is €4.50 per person, or €4 at the "reduced mobility" rate (disabled people and their companions pay nothing).
To get there, take metro line 8 (Balard and Lourmel stops) or line 10 (Javel-André Citroën station), the RER C (Pont du Garigliano or Gare de Javel stations), or even tramway T3a (Pont du Garigliano station).
