Dear Star Wars fans, and we know many of you are out there, join the dark side of the force in Bercy Village. From September 20, 2019 to January 20, 2020, an exhibition on Bercy Village walls is held around the iconic saga!
Jokingly retouching pictures of Paris with the incredible ships of the original trilogy and other legendary characters, artist Laurent Pons displays about thirty of his works on Bercy Village walls.
Parisian photographer Laurent Pons indeed revisits the Star Wars universe by placing models of the saga into the reality. His series includes the world created by Georges Lucas in a contemporary Paris.
The artist explains: “Like many people from my generation, I have been lulled by the Star Wars universe and it’s naturally I wanted to introduce my son to my passion. I started giving him Star Wars ships and we played together and painted them over, looking to reproduce this famous patina so characteristic of the universe of the first trilogy. Then, I staged and photographed models with different situations, with the most beautiful playground that has ever existed: Paris. With Photoshop, I then created original pictures without looking to respect the movie context and the characters staged but looking for an aesthetic and a vibe”.
Between reality and fiction, this exhibition takes visitors to a galaxy far away!
