We will love “Souffle de Vie”, the exhibition by Brenda Kingery, a Chickasaw artist. Let us discover the paintings of this Amerindian artist who has been successfully displayed at the Salon d’Automne several times.
Initially planned from September 24 to October 20, 2020, the exhibition being highly coveted is extended to November 3, 2020. And of course, the admission is free of charge! Meet at the Galerie Orenda in Paris 7th arrondissement from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. from Wednesday to Saturday.
Brenda Kingery’s art is fed by the story of her people, the Chickasaws, migrated in the 1830’s from the Eastern part of the United States to Oklahoma. Nicknamed “the Unconquered”, this people embodies resistance and this is this very ardor that Brenda Kingery shows in her work. The force of her painting takes us to danced dreams with beautiful colors.
This Parisian retrospective held by the Galerie Orenda gives us a wonderful overview of the artist’s work, like a foretaste, while we wait for the next major Brenda Kingery exhibition scheduled next Fall at the prestigious Cape Cod Museum (Massachusetts).
“Souffle de vie” is a wonderful introduction to Brenda Kingery’s work, as well as the occasion to discover the story of the Chickasaws if you do not know it yet.
And when leaving the Galerie Orenda, give a look at Serge Gainsbourg’s house set on the same street and whose façade is covered in special tags.
