While we wait to be able to go and visit it again, the Louvre gives us quite a surprise. It has been long we were waiting for admiring the gigantic collection gathered by this magnificent cultural place in a matter of clicks! This is a dream come true: an XXL database has been put online and enables us to discover the museum’s works of art, whether they are on display or not.
You simply have to visit the website dedicated to the collections available right here. This is commonly known, one day is not enough to visit Paris’ most famous museum… and its virtual version is quite a challenge. No fewer than 480,000 treasures expect to be gazed at, including exclusive not-displayed masterpieces.
The entire Louvre is then within easy reach, but so are the Musée Delacroix, the Tuileries sculptures, and works from Germany after the end of World War Two, given to the Louvre while they wait to be given to their owners back some day.
The Louvre website has been updated as well, enabling art and History buffs to enjoy a wonderful virtual exhibition program. It will definitely help us wait until we can go to the Louvre again.
