Fancy a trip to one of the world's most beautiful cities? Discover Venice, its history and culture, with the exceptional exhibition at theHôtel de la Marine, organized from November 30, 2022 to May 7, 2023. The Parisian museum will introduce us to the treasures of the Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca' d'Oro in Venice, through the exhibition Ca' d'Oro, Masterpieces of the Renaissance in Venice.
This famous Venetian national museum, which is closing its doors for restoration, allows us to admire its masterpieces by lending many priceless historical pieces to the Hotel de la Marine. Works that trace the history of Venice and highlight the great artists of the Italian Renaissance.
More than 70 works are thus highlighted in this exhibition. You can admire the creations of the greatest names in Italian art, such as Pisanello, Tintoretto, Titian, Alessandro Vittoria, Bartolomeo Bellano, Andrea Riccio and many others. Don't miss the treasure of this collection: the painting of Saint Sebastian by Andrea Mantegna, a work that, for the first time in a century, leaves the walls of the Ca' d'Oro to come to Paris.
The exhibition Ca' d'Oro, Masterpieces of the Renaissance in Venice pays tribute to all these artistic geniuses, and to the Serenissima, the exceptional city that still makes us dream today. But the Hotel de la Marine also highlights the Ca' d'Oro museum.
A museum housed in a splendid palace, located on the Grand Canal. Built in the 15th century, this palace represents all the magnificence of Venetian Gothic. Forgotten over the centuries, the palace was taken over at the end of the 19th century by Baron Giorgio Franchetti, a patron and collector of Italian art.
