Paint, pencil, charcoal, clay, fabric? Forget these too traditional tools: Peter Kogler gives us a glimpse of the art of the future, with his creations made on computer. These works, which explore the digital and electronic worlds, can be admired at the Enghien-les-Bains Arts Center, from April 19 to July 9, 2023.
Peter Kogler invites us to discover his exhibition of contemporary and digital art. The Austrian artist is known as one of the pioneers of electronic art: since the 1980s, he creates unique works thanks to computers. His artistic universe probes and questions the possibilities, the limits and the evolutions of the modern and digital world. This global and virtual space, which has changed our daily lives in so few years, continues to fascinate this artist like no other.
Peter Kogler's exhibition brings together a series of silk-screen prints, wallpapers, collages, sculptures, furniture and even immersive light devices, which immerse us in the artist's universe. Each work represents its own world, composed of lines that blend, cross, cut, lights, shapes ... These sets play with depths, perspectives, to amaze and disturb us.
The works on display are reminiscent of the infinite networks created by the Internet and global communication. But they can also imitate the connections that are formed in the brain: these electrical networks are linked! Machine and human are at the heart of these immersive and spectacular creations, to remind us that, in this digital world, the human being still has its place.
A fascinating exhibition to be discovered free of charge, without delay at the Arts Centre.
