This summer, the Palais de Tokyo invites you to discover three Solo Shows (by Laura Lamiel, mountaincutters and Marie-Claire Messouma Manlanbien) from June 16 to September 10, 2023, as well as a group exhibition "La morsure des termites" from June 16, 2023 to January 7, 2024. Explore this unique alliance of art, culture and nature, while discovering the new environmental adaptations of the Palais.

At a time when the climate seems to escape our understanding, the Palais de Tokyo, a great defender of the seasons, offers you the opportunity to (re)discover the beauty of their singularity through the works of talented artists. Summer 2023 reveals a range ofexhibitions, highlighting the work of three artists from June 16 to September 10, 2023, as well as a group show from June 16, 2023 to January 7, 2024, all in a fascinating diversity that underscores surprising affinities.

Laura Lamiel invites visitors to plunge into her sensitive, sensual universe through her installations, sculptures, paintings, drawings, films and subtle arrangements of objects. It's an experience of discovery and mystery. In parallel, the echo of this exhibition resonates with the "material situations" presented by the mountaincutters duo, plunging visitors into a world where sculptures, functional objects, prostheses and mechanical appendages coexist. Marie-Claire Messouma Manlanbien 's artisanal practice complements these exhibitions, creating a formal syncretism where cultures, spiritualities and symbols are literally sewn together.

The fourth exhibition, La morsure des termites, brings a new vision of graffiti, bridging the gap between official art history and street culture. This exhibition also marks the end of the"Lasco" project, which has hosted urban art in the Palais de Tokyo's hidden spaces for ten years. These different artistic practices, all imbued with a particular attention to materials and their energetic, psychic, restorative, cultural or cultic potential, create indefinable and timeless forms.

This"Summer Palace" represents a major transition towards the adaptation of spaces to social and environmental necessities. This change gives rise to an underground exploration, new sensitive approaches and a re-evaluation of the building's uses and visitor itinerary, in line with summer weather conditions. Finally, summer 2023 is also the opportunity to launch the first edition of the Friche, a new space for work, reflection and production that will be open to the public from October 2023. Summer at the Palais de Tokyo promises to be rich in discoveries, for artists and visitors alike. Shall we drop by the Palais de Tokyo, folks?
