Fashion culture alert! Maison Louis Vuitton is extending itsfree exhibition, dedicated to its iconic"Malle Courrier", by embellishing it with trunks and objects related to sport, on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Come and discover or rediscover it, on registration, at the Galerie-musée de la Maison d'Asnières (92) on July 5 & 7 and July 12 & 13, and on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from July 19 to 28, 2024 !
For over a century, the house has been home to Louis Vuitton's leather goods workshops, where tradition, innovation and boundless creativity come together. Inside, the craftsmen, the true guardians of the brand's ancestral know-how, still devote themselves today to creating handbags, rigid pieces and special orders, using rare and precious materials. At the same time as these small, expert hands are crafting exceptional accessories, the Maison de Famille Louis Vuitton Gallery occasionally welcomes visitors forexhibitions, sublimating its extraordinary heritage!
The latest? The"La Malle Courrier" exhibition, an emblematic piece created in 1858 that embodies thespirit of travel and the taste for adventure so dear to the Maison. Taking its name from long-haul flights, light and waterproof, it was quickly adopted by modern explorers. Every detail, from the slats to the metal corners, from the rivets to the buckles, testifies to Louis Vuitton's unrivalled expertise.
In the heart of the Galerie de la Maison de Famille, the exhibition transports us through time, with tales of extraordinary journeys, embodied, from the very first room, in 21 Louis Vuitton trunks, dating from 1865 to 2024. Among them, three are dedicated to sport: a Pickleball trunk designed by Virgil Abloh, a trunk created in collaboration with the NBA and the famous Supreme trunk from the Homme FW 2017-2018 fashion show by Kim Jones.
Upstairs, a"cabinet of curiosities" reveals various facets of the House (sport, architecture, bibliophily, exploration, innovation, special orders, childhood, play, monogram canvas, upcycling...), alongside an installation showcasing the expertise of Louis Vuitton's leather goods workshops.
