Attention street-art fans! The Festival d'art Street-Art & Contemporain à la Poste du Louvre is back for a second edition from November 16 to 24, 2024. And best of all, it's free! It's an opportunity to rediscover and reappropriate this recently renovated Parisian landmark, an emblem of late 19th-century architecture. We're off to discover the 2024 exhibition, and here are a few images of what's in store!
The building, originally designed by Julien Guadet, is a majestic blend of stone and metal. Thanks to the talent of architect Dominique Perrault, the renovation work has magnified the historicity of the premises. The 1,200 m2 semi-covered inner courtyard, where the building's metal frame unfurls, is a particular highlight. It's here, in the heart of this courtyard, that you can witness the live performances of numerous street artists creating monumental works of art.
In addition to the courtyard, the building's surroundings are also fascinating. Modern glass structures house a variety of living spaces, including the sumptuous 5-star "Madame Rêve" hotel. Upstairs, a 500 m2 planted rooftop invites you to relax, complemented by a 360 m2 lounge bar and panoramic terrace.
Inside, a two-storey showroom awaits us once again. It retains the industrial spirit originally intended, with its exposed ducts, concrete floor and metal staircase. It's in this space that you'll be able to admire the works of over fifteen participatingartists, presented in a harmonious scenography. In short, the exhibition will cover 350 m2 indoors and 1200 m2 outdoors.
Among the artists present are :
Sophie & Julien Roussard of Galerie Roussard, who regularly delight us with their exhibitions at the Madeleine church, such as Street-art Madeleine recently, have come up with this exhibition, which is open to all, FREE of charge and without reservation. Like last year, the event also features live performances and other entertainment. In short, now's the time to discover this ephemeral exhibition and meet the artists! And since it's free, you'd be wrong to miss out.
