The famous street artist Invader is doing things in a big way this time. A new monumental work of art, visible above the Place d'Italie in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, has been unveiled to Parisians and passers-by. This large-scale mosaic, entitled PA_1525, adorns the facade of a building and is already attracting curious looks. We tell you all about it.

A new Invader to flash? This one's going to be a bit trickier! For several days now, passers-by and street-art enthusiasts have been able to catch a glimpse of an impressive mosaic in green, white and red, paying vibrant tribute to the Place d'Italie. On his social networks, the artist writes: " PA_1525 dominates the Place d'Italie in Paris ". An XXL work of art that doesn't go unnoticed, hailed by Jérôme Coumet, mayor of the XIIIe district, on X (formerly Twitter): " This work, visible from afar, brings back the sunshine of Italy."

Known for his many interventions in the Parisian urban landscape,Invader 's approach is more discreet most of the time. While most of his creations remain hidden in unexpected corners, this mosaic imposes its presence and transforms the decor of the 13th arrondissement.

Over 1,500 mosaics in Paris

The name Invader has long been associated with the world of street-art, an art form that is now increasingly taking up residence in galleries, museums and special venues in and around the capital. With over 1,500 works scattered across the capital, his pixelated mosaics inspired by the aesthetics of 1980s video games have become landmarks for enthusiasts and the curious alike. Last February, the artist created quite a stir when he laid his 1,500th mosaic, unveiled at a surprise exhibition near République, attracting fans from the four corners of the globe.

A particularity of Invader's work lies in his ability to marry the digital and the real. Since 2014, he has been offering his fans the chance to "flash" his works via a mobile app. Each photo taken earns between ten and one hundred points, in a playful experience comparable to Pokémon Go. An original way to discover the capital, while going in search of the creations of this veritable Banksy à la française.

With this new installation in the heart of the 13th arrondissement, Invader continues to enrich Paris's urban artistic heritage, confirming his status as a key figure in street-art. A great opportunity to rediscover the Place d'Italie from a different angle, between modernity and tradition.
