Snow and ice in Paris and the Île-de-France region, disruptions to transport services this Friday

This Friday, November 22, 2024, Paris and the Île-de-France region are once again under a "snow-ice" orange vigilance. After the snow, the icy conditions are likely to cause major problems for Parisian transport. Transiliens, RER, bus lines, tramways and school transport are all affected.

The snow that fell across France on Thursday, particularly in Paris and the Île-de-France region, could turn to black ice in areas where temperatures will be below freezing overnight. On the public transport front, we take stock of the situation and the lines affected by the bad weather this Friday, November 22.

The good news is that there was no impact on the Paris metro. This is not the case for the Transiliens, where almost all lines have been affected by the snow and ice.

Weather conditions are complicating traffic on several Transilien lines. Line H is disrupted in its entirety, as is the section of line J linking Vernon-Giverny to Saint-Lazare, line N between Dreux and Montparnasse, and line P between Coulommiers and Gare de l'Est.

On line R, traffic is interrupted between Montereau and Melun via Héricy, with an estimated resumption around 9 a.m. Finally, the L and U lines are experiencing disruption due to a technical incident.

On the RER, line E is affected between Haussmann Saint-Lazare and Tournan in both directions. RER line A is running at reduced speed between Nanterre Préfecture, Boissy-Saint-Léger and Torcy. There are also disruptions on RER line C between Brétigny and Dourdan. On line D, traffic is completely disrupted between Juvisy and Malesherbes via Ris-Orangis, with normal service expected to resume around 9:30 am.

On the tramway front, the T6 is disrupted due to snowfall at Division Leclerc. Bus lines in the Île-de-France region may also be suspended this Friday. Tramway T9 traffic is affected on the entire line.

The Prefects of Yvelines, Essonne, Val d'Oise and Seine-et-Marne have announced the suspension of school transport this Friday. This also affects many bus routes, so be sure to check before travelling.

For Roissy Est, routes 2101 to 2111 and 2122 are suspended. Bus 2120 has been diverted and does not serve the Claye-Souilly cemetery stop. On the Brie et 2 Morin network, many lines are also at a standstill, including 03A, 03B, 8A, 31, 31A, 32, 33, 38, 40, 41A, 41B, 42, 49, 59 and the P bus.
