Street Art Madeleine is the name of the street art exhibition and event taking place from September 13 to 22, 2024 in the crypt of the Madeleine church. Imagine the work of 106 free and vandalized street artists, brought together in one place.

A free street-art exhibition featuring 106 artists at theMadeleine church? What a great idea! That's what Galerie Roussard and Codex Urbanus are offering from September 13 to 22, 2024, in the Crypt of the Eglise de la Madeleine , located beneath the church.

Street Art Madeleine is the name of this exhibition event, bringing together 200 purchasable works by no fewer than 106 artists described as vandals, offering a total immersion in the world of street art in the heart of Paris. Initiated by artist Codex Urbanus, who regales us with his bestiary of monsters all over Paris, this exhibition highlights the release of his book: Le petit Atlas de poche du Street Art de Paris et sa Banlieue, a comprehensive dictionary that can help you recognize the artists behind them and their techniques.

The good news is that you'll be able to discover works by Chanoir, Levalet, Codex Urbanus, TocToc, Ardif, Mesnager, Le Cyclop, Steeven Salvat, Jérôme Rasto and many others. These artists, known for their unbridled creativity and ability to transform urban space, present original works. In addition to the exhibition, there will be a number of book signing sessions, where you can meet these often discreet creators, active mainly at night.

Unlike muralism, street art is characterized by its impulsiveness and lack of official authorization. The artists exhibited at Street Art Madeleine work freely, without institutional constraints, giving their works an ephemeral, spontaneous character. Codex Urbanus, for example, has been drawing a fantastic bestiary on Parisian walls for over a decade, creating some 700 ever-changing creatures.

We invite you to pass beneath the Madeleine church and discover a variety of techniques: drawings, paintings, aerosols, collages, photographs, stencils, mosaics, sculptures and installations. The exhibition stands out for the diversity of its works and the creative freedom of the artists.

For this exhibition, it is exclusively offering the book Petit Atlas du Street Art de Paris et sa Banlieue à l'Usage du Promeneur et de l'Amateur, featuring the biographies and techniques of the artists exhibited.
