This summer of 2024, Paris becomes the capital of sport, hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. But the party starts long before that: a host of events around the Olympics are being organized in the run-up to the start of the sporting events. The Musée d'Orsay is also celebrating the Games. To mark the occasion, the art museum is organizing a major Cultural Olympiad. Various shows, concerts, performances and events are planned from September 16, 2023 to June 22, 2024.
Thanks to various contemporary artists, the Musée d'Orsay combines sport and art. The museum's collections serve as the backdrop for these lively performances, featuringurban art and participatory dance practices. These exceptional events are a must-see: here's the next Musée d'Orsay event you won't want to miss.
On February 6 and 7, 2024, the Nave of the Musée d'Orsay plays host to Les Apaches, a musical ensemble that likes to mix genres. The orchestra performs several pieces, setting the pace for an unusual performance by free-runners. Johan Tonnoir, Simon Nogueira (French free-run champion) and acrobatic dancer Andrea Catozzi transform the museum's Nave into a giant playground. An unprecedented parkour performance unfolds amidst the works of art, to the rhythm of the music. Movement, space and sound become playgrounds of experimentation for these original artists, who break down the barriers of art.
