Maison Élysée: the free Élysée museum/café, opposite the presidential palace in Paris

The Élysée Palace has finally opened the doors to its very own museum! Come and enjoy an exclusive presidential experience at the Maison de l'Élysée, located just opposite the palace. On the program? A free, royal immersion in the 600 m2 museum, café and boutique.

La Maison Élysée, your VIP Pass to the Presidential Palace! - Just across the street from the palace, a new cultural venue has entered the Paris scene: La Maison Élysée. Inaugurated by Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron, it opened its doors on July 30, 2024, right in the middle of the excitement of the Paris Olympic Games. Entrance to this brand-new, free museum is free (depending on attendance), or by reservation to ensure your visit.

The Palais pour tous, now in accessibility mode

Have you been dreaming of a visit to the heart of the Palais? It's now possible without spending a cent! "Showing the history of this building and promoting French know-how" is President Macron's mission with this Maison Élysée. It's been such a success that"the 10,000 tickets on offer during the Journées du Patrimoine sell out in 30 minutes". With a view to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Élysée has taken the lead in transforming a former wedding dress boutique, located just across the street, into an annex to the Palais.

A 600m2 immersive experience

La Maison de l'Élysée's 600 square meters, spread over two floors, are designed by designer Sarah Lavoine, and invite you on an immersive journey that combines a boutique, Élysée museum and café. As soon as you enter, a majestic Mobilier National chandelier, wrought-iron balustrades, a glass roof and XXL mirrors plunge you into the presidential universe. The souvenir store is brimming with gift ideas: mugs, wine glasses, Marseille soap and tricolored pétanque balls (€70), most of them made in France.

For tighter budgets, four-colour "Présidence de la République" pens for €4 and blue-white-red bracelets for €7 are also available!

The Salon doré and its secrets

The highlight of the show? The Salon doré! This recreation of the offices of French presidents since 1958 allows you to pose in front of General de Gaulle's authentic desk.

Nearby, a veritable cabinet of curiosities unveils a series of exotic diplomatic gifts, including a wooden statue from Mozambique, gaucho spurs from Chile, a lute from India, and even a unique drawing of the One Piece manga, donated during the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games.

Presidential treats in sight

Go upstairs and discover the café created with Alain Ducasse, Fabrice Desvignes, the President's chef, and head pastry chef Lun-Yi Hsing.

Here, you can enjoy a blue/white/red yuzu lemon pastry, reminiscent of the winter garden, or an éclair adorned with a golden palm, in homage to the mural staircase of the Élysée Palace. These sweet treats, priced from €9 to €12 a piece, can only be enjoyed on the premises, with a breathtaking view of the courtyard of honor.
