Since October 2024, the Al Thani Collection has been showcasing a new selection of masterpieces on the theme of color across the world's civilizations in the spaces of the Hôtel de la Marine.
Covering a period from Neolithic times to the present day, the exhibition is structured around the six fundamental colors of world art: black, white, red, yellow, blue and green. Each section combines works from different cultures and periods, in a wide variety of materials and techniques (wood, stone and metal sculptures, ceramics, textiles, engravings, objets d'art, etc.).
As part of the exhibition, the Hôtel de la Marine offers a rich cultural program, with numerous events, including the lecture-show La Science des Couleurs by CIE 44, a novel format focused on popularizing knowledge and transmitting it to the widest possible audience (students, families...), which it has already experimented with in numerous museums in the capital, notably the Musée du Luxembourg and the Musée des Arts et Métiers, to give some substance to rather philosophical concepts.
CIE 44 invites you to explore "The Science of Colors" with a quirky twist!
